Many people do not realize and do not understand the consequences of me consuming any cow/beef products. It does not, however, include by-products like processed milk, butter and margarine.
But it is a huge deal if it's beef, beef bacon (wtf is beef bacon anyway?), fresh milk, cow fat/oil, ox tail and the like of sup tulang, among others.
Having said that, it's very risky for me actually to eat from outlets that serve beef and other meat cooked using the same utensils such as Ramly Burger. That includes not using the same spoon or fork that has touched beef to touch my food. I'm not sure about Mcdonalds but I haven't encountered any problem with McD, yet. Perhaps they cook the patties separately.
Examples like having satay or BBQ or steamboat, I am very, very careful to ensure the stuff I ate has not touch any beef or it's juice or oil. Or I have to warn everyone of my condition before everyone start pouring beef into whatever. It's nothing religious, I don't give a fuck about religion, but it has more to do biologically.
My body rejects traces of beef and the likes in a very cruel way. It will cause me to reboot by throwing up everything, shitting everything, peeing everything until there is absolutely nothing left inside or about 3 days, and comes complete with rashes, swollen lips, and high fever. It's tragically similar to people with peanut or seafood allergy but much worse.
I learnt from my mom that when she had me, she practically ate beef and drank sup tulang soup on a daily basis. I'm not sure if that caused me to develop a strong allergen towards it but like any allergy, you won't know until you start eating.
Strangely I have no problem with processed by-products, roughly it's because preservatives and other chemicals added gave me the upper hand to digest safely.
Then people go like, "oh then you won't know how good is wahyu/salami/rib eye/t-bone/pepperoni etc". I say, "darling, not many people know how good is pork and lamb/mutton/venison/wild boar!"
Funny but yes, I do eat venison and wild boar but they have to be sliced thinly and cooked real thoroughly. Not many people know how to cook these meat, not even my mom. As for me, I am contended cooking chicken and fish, and of course PORK!
No beef in my house.
