The Korean Adventure Day 2

Day 2 - Seoul

New Year's Eve..

As some of the gang still taking a nap, a couple of friends and I set out to look for food.. we stopped at a sashimi stall and the octopus looks too yummy.. and it's freaking huge! I took this photo to compare against my finger vs the octopus.. and it's quite cheap.. for a plate of octopus it's only RM20... and a whole set of sashimi (octopus, salmon, scallop, tuna, oyster) cost only RM60!!

Finger vs octopus head

Anyway, throughout our 6 days in Seoul, we were having our dinner at this stall 3 times... the ajussi was very nice and offered us free packets of "paper vege" (what's it called??), free soup and free drinks.. On the first time, nothing.. but our repeated visits she treated us very well..

Some Christmas lights in Jongno

The temperature was about minus 8 and people started gathering in one of two places.. The other was in TimesSquare being the official venue, where tickets are priced over RM200 per person.. For those who don't want to pay, like us, we headed to Bosingak in Jongno area..

I'm all wrapped up like an arab lolx.

Bosingak is the bell pavilion where they only ring the bell once a year.. We arrived at the place at 10pm but it's already packed.. It so happened at the same time there were two groups marching protesting against some policy, one is the FTA.. Oh well...

Police barricade
The police barricades were scary.. they formed lines of like 5 or 6 lines and circled the protesters and let them march.. No firing of gas and no water cannon whatsoever.. Protesters marched in peace..

The countdown surprised us.. there's no public fireworks, only ringing of the bell... then down the road, we noticed the revelers started firing their own fireworks.. all along the street for about 100m..  so there you go.. no wasting of public funds for a show of fireworks.. you want to light, you buy your own fireworks and light them up in the middle of the road!

Revelers lighting up their own fireworks
As it is past midnight and millions of Seoulites rushing for the trains and busses out of the countdown area, we decided to walk back to our hotel, some 1km away, along with hundreds of people who decided to walk as well.. The Jongno MRT station was inundated with people.. it's a sea of people in the middle of madness at the station.. we have to fight our way out of it when scores more were pouring into it..

So we walk... minus 8 degrees Celcius... 1 hour walk..  and at one point, we reached the Cheongyecheon drain, and we decided to just go down and walk beside it.. The city turned it into a tourist attraction whereby you can walk along side it and enjoy the drain without the bustling pollution above... It's a very, very clean drain, or river if you may... but by following it, we knew we were walking in the right direction, only that, none of us can read the map whether it is going TO or AWAY from our hotel...

At last, we had to ask someone for directions, even the taxi refuses to drive us cos we were just 100m away from our hotel when we flagged the taxi!!

Ice among the bushes..
As we were walking back to our hotel, I spotted something....As it was too dark and the signboard wasn't very lit up, I could still see what it says... so the next morning, we went to Jongno again, to eat actually when we stopped right in front of this place... ta-daaa...

I didn't go in, though... but I am curious as to what this place holds, any Seoul guys can tell me?

Captain Obvious..

What about sex?

Nah, no sex today, but I was just thinking of wanking off in the hostel shared toilet... but then, on second thoughts, I didn't.... because in the shared bathroom, there's only 2 guys, my friend and I.. and the other room wasn't occupied... sooo... if anyone found cum on the floor... if it's not him, it's me.. screwed lolx... however after Jan 1, both the shared rooms (we moved to another room with ensuite toilet) were occupied by guys..

LOL... I should have just left my spunk there after that anyway...

And that's how at the hostel, I met a new friend, a 21 year old American travelling alone, who has breakfast and supper at the hostel lobby/pantry area, where I would also have my morning and night coffee and cigg... That's how I got to know him and chatted... and of course, he found me on Grindr as well...

He was in the next room to ours (I shared a room with 2 other girls - no I didnt sleep naked, I wore a trackpants and t-shirt to sleep with the bed warmer set to min 1 and room heater off).. 4m aways my Grindr shows..

........ next.. the skiing part and how I almost cried...
